Body Treatments
*Please note that both our Bikini Brite peel and our Odor Release peel will be reviewed under the “Intimate Lightening” portion of this article.
Waxing:
Waxing is a great option for hair removal because the results last much longer than a razor, with touch-ups only once every 4-8 weeks. We typically prefer the use of soft wax, which is applied with wooden sticks and removed with woven strips. We highly recommend exfoliating 1-2 days before your appointment to ensure the cleanest removal. Aftercare is minimal, but you should be cautious to exfoliate for the few days following your appointment to leave your skin silky smooth. Please review the following contraindications to ensure you may receive this treatment:
- Accutane in the past 12-24 mo.
- Acne clients for facial waxing
- Open wounds
- Retinol/Retin A
- Recent peels or harsh exfoliators
- Skin thinning medications
- Sensitive skin
- Keratosis (Chicken skin)
- Other active topical skin conditions such as rashes or Eczema
Skin Lightening/Antibacterial Peel:
During the warm summer days, your underarms may darken and odor may appear stronger. To combat both of these issues, antibacterial peels may relieve these symptoms. Starting with our lactic peel, the top layer of the skin is shed to reduce any bacteria that may be clogging the pores and causing odor. This treatment may last 4-6 weeks but may be sooner for those suffering from hyperhidrosis. We also have our brightening peel, which lightens the skin and may be used to treat hyperpigmentation caused by friction in places such as the underarms, groin, and inner thighs. We highly recommend that this lightening peel be done in at least 3 sessions, each about 7-10 days apart. Maintenance for these peels includes limiting friction, heat, and certain fabrics your esthetician will advise. Please review the following contraindications to ensure this treatment is safe for you:
- Open wounds
- Melasma
- Active chemotherapy
- Sunburn/unhealed burns
- Melanin production conditions such as Vitiligo
